How Does Chin Augmentation Work?
During this procedure, general anesthesia will be administered or sedation by IV in some cases. The incision is made just under your chin. Through this incision, a surgical pocket is created to keep the implant device in place, which involves reducing some of the tissue, cartilage, and bone to create grooves to hold your implant in position. The implant is inserted through the incision and positioned over the bone, directly below your lower lip. In some cases, the incision can be created inside the lower lip where it meets your gumline. Both incision points help to conceal scars. Tiny stitches are used to connect and close the incisions, and your chin will be wrapped with bandages.
Chin augmentation surgery creates immediate attractive results. Even though swelling and bruising will be present following your surgery, this only lasts a short while. For the majority of patients, chin augmentation takes a couple of weeks of healing. Heavy exercise should not be performed within this recovery window. I have fully recovered from my Diep flap procedure and reconstructive surgery from Dr. Stalder. I could not be happier with the outcome! I had considered having a rhinoplasty for several years but was nervous that I would come out looking like a completely different person. I had Botox done by Dr Stalder and it has been the best Botox I’ve ever received. I’ve been to plenty of different kind of providers for Botox but Dr Stalder did the best I’ve ever had. He’s professional but also easy going and easy to talk to about what you’re looking for. Jess and the rest of the staff are great at taking care of you to help you get the appointment that works best for you and making sure you are happy with your results.
