Delayed Reconstruction Using Patients' Own Tissue*

This patient presented for reconstruction well after her bilateral mastectomies were performed. Dr. Stalder used the patients' own tissue for this bilateral reconstruction, employing the DIEP flap- where tissue is taken from the lower abdomen (thus simultaneously performing an abdominoplasty or "tummy tuck"). Dr. Stalder created nipples for this patient, which were subsequently colored by tattoo.
